The Power of Gratitude

Gratitude seems to us a simple emotion. The acknowledgment and thank-you look like a teeny-tiny thing. Am I right? Yet, this teeny-tiny thing contains the power to make someone’s whole day plus satisfies you too. Happiness, improvement, contentment, appreciation, and satisfaction, all these coming in gratitude, display the power.

And maybe its power is coming from its simplicity. So, it is time to discover more about why it is important and what are its benefits. Are you ready? You can read more about what does gratitude means, here.

Why is gratitude so powerful?

Let me tell you why.

Power of gratitude #1. Gratitude creates happiness

If a person is appreciated and thanked for his service, his heart gets full of bliss. His all tiredness goes away.

Imagine that you arranged everything perfectly at your house for dinner for an occasion. You did the cooking, set the table, and decorated the house. And nobody appreciated or thanked you for that. What will you feel? Yes, you will feel low. That’s my point. Now take another one. You cooked the favorite food of a loved one, and she didn’t admire your effort. Your heart will go low just like a candle suddenly puts off by the wind.

Gratitude brings happiness for both the parties – the thanked one as well as the one who thanks. It is bi-directional. And what else can be mightier than a thing creating happiness for both sides?

As for some proof, go, appreciate, and thank someone who loves you, cares for you, or serves you somehow. Admire and thank your mother, father, siblings, partner, or dear friend for the good they do to you. The smile on their face and the happiness they will have will make you believe what I said. And you will accept the power of gratitude.

Power of gratitude #2. Gratitude increases the sense of improvement

Naturally, we learn things by example. Here again, I have one for you. If you have an assistant at the office, thank her for her service. It will boost her confidence and create a sense of working more efficiently.
Now again, appreciate and thank a coffee boy to always bring your coffee in time. You will see that he will try his best to provide you with the right time.
A cleaner, mopping the floor when appreciated and thanked for his tidy work, will become more energized and work happily. I am pretty much sure that now you are getting my point.

Power of gratitude # 3. Gratitude increases your blessings and brings God’s pleasure

Gratitude is the source of an increase in blessings. Think of all the good things you have. They are countless. When God is so merciful and benevolent for us, isn’t this our obligation to appreciate and thank Him for all that we have? He alone has the right to be thanked devotedly and continuously. So, incorporate this practice into your routine, and you will see more blessings coming your way. Try to thank God for almost anything, small or big. And see the magic. Don’t forget to thank me for this advice.

It is a saying that “the one, who doesn’t thank people, doesn’t thank God.” Let’s make a habit of acknowledging each other, appreciating the efforts, and thanking each other. Let’s learn to attain God’s pleasure by being grateful to the caring and serving people around us. Trust me; it won’t be that much difficult.

Why is gratitude important?

Gratitude paves the way for a better understanding of someone’s efforts. Just like a car needs fuel to function, the same goes for a person serving you. Your grateful response to their service will work as fuel for them. They will become recharged with energy, happiness, and efficiency.

Gratitude is important because it makes you aware of what you have and others don’t. It restricts you from taking things for granted. It teaches you to value things and people. God has blessed us with so much. And that’s why it is necessary to have a grateful heart to enjoy more of His blessings.

How does gratitude change your life?

How can it be possible that a thing so powerful does not impact your life? When gratitude involves in your lives and your dealings with people, it introduces many attributes to your personality. Let’s check what they are.

Gratitude gifts you with humbleness. And humbleness is something very dear to God. The more you bow your head, the more you will rise above. Gratitude also makes you more compassionate and less judgmental towards people.

With gratitude, your connection with God becomes strengthened. The feeling of being fortunate to be blessed with so much gives you a different pleasure. Your heart fills with God’s love. You become more aware of the blessings you have. You start thinking about the people who are less privileged than you.

What are the benefits of gratitude?

Gratitude, being a powerful entity, has many benefits:

  • It spreads happiness.
  • Soothes the tired heart of a person.
  • Encourages people to improve the efforts.
  • Brings a sense of contentment and appreciation for all the good we have.
  • Becomes a source of attaining God’s love and pleasure and strengthens our bond with God.
  • Increases our blessings more and more.
  • Increases compassion and understanding among the people.
  • Makes us more mindful of how much someone serves us.
  • Increases love between the partners and make them more aware of how much both partners do for each other.
  • Makes us aware of the fact that how much blessed we are.

Conclusion

Just read yesterday, two quotes about gratitude in Sufi tradition by chance in the book of Margaret Smith about Rabi’a.

“Gratitude is not seeing the blessing but seeing the Giver. Being able to feel gratitude is also God’s blessing”

Kushayri

“Surely, the giver is better for you than a blessing. What will you do with the blessing if you take the potion? It is not the gift I find flavor; it is the one that gives it.”

Bişr-i Yasin

Gratitude is a game. Once you begin to feel it, own it and feel more gratitude for being able to feel it. As Kushayri says, it is the blessing of God, being able to feel it.

The more you feel, the more you will see God in everything. Then life as it will become a ritual and worship.

Have a great day full of gratitude!

What Does Gratitude Mean?

Do you feel grateful for this life of yours? Do you wake up every day and feeling the joy of asking “Let’s see what miracles life is preparing me beyond my imagination?” Does gratitude accompany you?

If not, I have some serious news for you. It is your responsibility to feel uplifted. Do not expect others to come to you and do this for you.

No worries, this is not that hard. The shortest path to feeling alive and joyful is the feeling of gratitude.

Let’s check more in detail, what this means. Are you ready?

What gratitude means?

It is a “state of thankfulness”. It is “the acceptance of the fact that someone has been kind to you as well as paying thanks to him.” It is the gesture of showing appreciation for a kind act and thanking for it.

How do you explain gratitude?

It pops up when someone has done an act of kindness to you or helped you in some way. And you acknowledge and admire that and thank them for that. This acknowledgment plus thankfulness make the gesture.

Gratitude does not need to occur only on something big in kindness. Any small act of kindness needs to be appreciated and thanked.

I feel gratitude toward life mostly as a result of unseen things. I see and hear and feel that life is continuously interacting with me. Feeling supported and loved by life itself and as a result, I feel the awe and thank life.

Is gratitude an emotion?

Anything that can be expressed is an emotion. Thus, gratitude is an emotion because it is evident only when expressed. Whether you thank verbally, give a face gesture of gratefulness, or a nod of the head in thankfulness, it expresses gratitude. It is a thing that you must make a person feel, and therefore, it comes as an emotion.

Gratitude to God

We are blessed with so many things that if we start to thank God for them, we cannot thank Him enough. The breath we take, the eyes to see, the ears to hear, the nose to smell, the list goes on. Our body parts, our loved ones, the house we have, education, career, everything is a blessing of God. If I start to write for every blessing, I will write and write, but it never ends.

Thinking that how much we are blessed fills our hearts with much thankfulness for God. We feel so much loved by Him. And so, it becomes the right of God to be thanked by us. Therefore, from this angle, gratitude becomes a kind of worship. It becomes our acceptance of God as our one and only Guardian and the Ultimate Provider. And hence, it becomes our responsibility to pay gratitude for all His blessings.

Every time you come across something good, whether small or big, thank God for that. You will feel better and more blessed.

What is an example of gratitude?

Be thankful to every person serving you. Some examples are:

  • Be thankful to a waiter who brings you food.
  • Towards your house-help.
  • Be grateful to your assistant at work for his service.
  • Be thankful for the person who brings you coffee at work
  • Thankful to your parents.
  • Be thankful to the one who cooks food for you.
  • Be thankful to your partner.

Also, some examples towards God can be:

  • Be grateful for your life, good health.
  • Admire and thank God for a good career and job.
  • Feel blessed to have a home, your loved ones around you.
  • Be extremely thankful for the blessings of God every time.

There are a lot of things to be thankful for if only we are conscious of it. The more you practice, the more conscious you become. This is the secret of feeling it.

What is the difference between gratitude and gratefulness?

Gratefulness is the gesture of appreciation only. Someone does something good to you and you simply appreciate that. On the other hand, gratitude has the essence of appreciation as well as giving thanks truly to the helper. Hence, gratitude is something big. It has a much wider and deep effect.

How do you express gratitude in words?

Words coming straight from the heart create magic. Speak your truth. When you feel grateful, let it be expressed by you.

Gratitude can be expressed in any way. You can simply thank for the kindness, say something in detail. You can choose beautiful and heart-touching phrases to express your appreciation. Some examples are:

  • Thank you so much for your help.
  • I will always remember your act of kindness.
  • I am touched by this humane gesture of yours, highly appreciate and value that. And I thank you with the depth of my heart.

Words are powerful when chosen wisely and used correctly. With the right zeal and great words, you can show your gratitude in a much satisfying manner.

Every language has different ways to convey gratitude. But love, kindness, and thankfulness are the universal languages understood everywhere by everyone.

Living in gratitude

Gratitude makes you humble. It makes you a soul who is understanding and appreciative of compassion, kindness, and care. When you pay gratitude towards someone, you also become a reason for a rise in kindness. It is natural for a thing to increase when it is appreciated and admired. People are encouraged to do more good when appreciated and thanked. With the spirit of thanking the people, your life becomes more positive, humble, and appreciative of others. Also, the thankfulness to God makes you spiritually content and close to God.

Gratitude is the attitude

Incorporating the flavor of gratitude in your manner not only enhances your connection with the people but also satisfies your soul. It brings positivity and down-to-earth mannerism in you and diminishes any kind of arrogance and pride within.

Gratitude is a must

The feeling of gratitude is contagious both inside and outside. The more you express it- does not need to be to others, even expressing to yourself is enough- the more you feel grateful.

If you want to feel the joy of this unique life of yours, just try to express your gratitude for 2 minutes every day.

Before sleeping, ask yourself this one question: “What I am grateful for today?” And answer it to yourself by scanning your day. Continue this little ritual for 7 days. You will be amazed by the result.

To enjoy life and feel alive, gratitude is a must.

How to show gratitude?

Learn to appreciate each person who adds value to your life. Be it a restaurant waiter, a cleaner, your maid, or a salesman, thank them for their service. Be kind towards every person that serves you in some way. Simple thanking words will brighten their faces and your heart too. Wherever you go, wherever you are, try to show gratitude towards every human being who makes your life easy.

Take it as a little game on your own. Make this a little mindfulness exercise. Slow down to see the beauties around you and once you realize and feel the appreciation, express it, just with two little words: thank you! Let this thank you create connections with those around you.

Science of being grateful

Psychologists performed research on two groups of people to see the impact of gratitude on their lives. The people who felt and wrote about gratitude were more positive and optimistic than those who discussed only their adversities. This proves that gratitude has a powerful impact on a person’s well-being. It makes our minds healthy and introduces contentment in life.

Mindfulness and gratefulness

How one can bring the spirit of gratitude in her life? The answer is simple as always. By being more mindful.

This is what worship is for me. Enjoying and appreciating and feeling the gratitude in this beautiful life.

God says according to this hadith that:

“I was a hidden treasure, loved to be known, and I created realms to be known.”

Hadith

Ibn Arabi says that

“Human is as for God, just as the pupil is for the eye, the view is thanks to a human.”

Ibn Arabi

From the connection of this hadith and the quote of Ibn Arabi, I feel like a human is created to experience this hidden treasure, being aware, feel the joy and let the gratitude happen as a result of it.

Yes, but how all this will be? By slowing down dear, by being aware. Doing more of what makes your soul happy. By prioritizing your inspiration and joy. Then gratitude will come and you will feel alive with joy.

Happiness and being grateful

Gratitude and happiness are directly proportional to each other. A thankful person contains a happy soul. Moreover, your gratitude will make the other person feel good and appreciated. It will also make you feel contented, pleased and keeps you in high spirits.

What is a token of gratitude?

A “token of gratitude” is a small gift given as a gesture of gratitude. It may be tangible, or it may be some action taken on behalf of the receiver. As to pay gratitude, here are some things that you can do:

  • Send a beautiful thank-you message.
  • Make a thank-you card and write a good note on it.
  • Send some flowers as a goodwill gesture with a thank-you note.
  • Buy a gift for that person at your convenience.
  • Give chocolates as a thanking gesture.

If you want your life to change for the better and forever, never ever lose any opportunity to express your gratitude and use the token of gratitude.

Conclusion

I am feeling grateful for life every day and taking this feeling as a compass for me. I am checking every day with me to see if I am feeling grateful and if I do not feel grateful, no worries, I am asking myself again, what is the deal, what I can do for myself.

Feeling grateful is not about having all the time very happy things happening around you.

It is about seeing the beauty in everything, even when “shit happens”.

To feel blessed and feel grateful every day, you need to make your gratefulness muscle work baby.

I will talk more about how you can make this muscle works. It will be a lot of fun. Coming soon!

What Does a Horse Spirit Animal Mean and Symbolize?

Horse spirit animals symbolize speed, strength, grace, vitality, athletic ability, beauty, sexual prowess. However, the real question is, what does a Horse spirit animal mean and symbolize for you?

You would see the traces of the spirit animal Horse in mythologies, stories, literature, movies, etc.

If you look carefully, you will recognize this spirit animal in the expression of the collective consciousness of humanity.

In the Norse mythology of the pre-Christian Scandinavian peoples, the eight-legged Horse of the God Odin, the unicorn Pegasus with wings, the Hindu God Sun, and the Greek God Apollo’s Horses are the first to come to mind.

What does the spirit animal Horse mean?

A spirit animal Horse represents power, freedom, and journey.

It’s also known for nobility, high stamina, confidence, heroism, and adventure.

When a Horse comes to you as a spirit animal, it means you’re ready to explore your world, overcoming all the rough periods.

To explain how exciting a Horse can make our life, famous Australian author Pam Brown quotes;

“A Horse is the projection of peoples’ dreams about themselves – strong, powerful, beautiful – and it has the capability of giving us escape from our mundane existence.”

Horse spirits love freedom.

They want to break free and go on adventurous journeys.

Therefore, Horse spirit animals will influence you to seek adventures. And they will never want you to be under someone else’s control.

Moreover, if you look back at history, Horses were primarily used in battles. Therefore, the spirit animal Horse also represents majesty, pride, and heroism.

Bucephalus is one of the most famous Horses from ancient history. He accompanied Alexander the Great in many wars.

Another excellent ability of Horses is that they have 350-degree eyesight. That’s because they have eyes on their side of the heads.

Hence, a spirit animal Horse will allow you to widen your vision and carefully inspect what’s happening around you. In addition, it will enable them to have excellent night vision. This will help you not to get lost in the dark.

Brown Horse spiritual meaning

A brown Horse spirit can be your source of energy and passion.

You may have some goals in mind, but you are working on them.

A brown Horse will boost the power of your spirit to go for your desires.

However, it may act stubborn sometimes, but the stubbornness will provide you the necessary inspiration.

Biblical meaning of Horses

Biblically Horses are known as the Four Horsemen of the apocalypse. They appear in the book of Revelation.

“Now I watched when the Lamb opened one of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four living creatures say with a voice like thunder, “Come!” And I looked, and behold, a White Horse!

And its rider had a bow, and a crown was given to him, and he came out conquering, and to conquer. When he opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, “Come!”

And out came another Horse, bright red. Its rider was permitted to take peace from the earth so that people should slay one another, and he was given a great sword.

When he opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come!” And I looked, and behold, a black Horse!

And its rider had a pair of scales in his hand. When he opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, “Come!” And I looked, and behold, a Pale Horse!

And its rider’s name was Death, and Hades followed him. And they were given authority over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword and with famine and with pestilence and by wild beasts of the earth.”

(Revelation 6:1-8)

Each of these four Horses represents a different meaning. These include conquest, war, famine, and Death.

What does a Horse symbolize?

Universally, a Horse symbolizes independence and courage.

They’re well known for their bravery. Besides, to depict the beautiful nature of Horses, famous novelist John Galsworthy said,

“I am still under the impression that there is nothing alive quite so beautiful as a Horse.”

In Greek mythology, Horses are powerful creatures with several meanings.

Pegasus is the most famous Horse in Greek mythology. It is said that he could create a stream with the touch of his hoof.

What does a white Horse symbolize in the Bible?

In the Bible, usually, Horses symbolize war. However, a white Horse has a greater meaning. It symbolizes victory.

Read the verse of the Bible above again. One of the four-Horse riders is white & the rider has a crown on his head. That tells you how significant white Horse is in the Bible.

What does a black Horse symbolize?

A black Horse is mostly wilder than others. However, this wild nature brings positive results.

Black Horses symbolize incredible power to overcome odd situations.

If your spirit animal is a black Horse, you can rely on him to go through difficult times. Moreover, they never fear any challenges. Therefore, they will provide you with the power to gain victory.

Nonetheless, the famous English phrase “Dark Horse” refers to a very little-known person to other people. But in the end, he wins unexpectedly.

What does a blue Horse symbolize?

A blue Horse has a little mention in the spiritual world.

However, in native America, people consider a blue Horse as a clan animal.

Besides, this was the first Horse that Indians could possess to ride.

Nonetheless, Indians believed blue Horses had magical powers, so they depended on them. Moreover, they used to paint on the Horses to increase their supernatural powers.

In the eyes of the people of North America, the Horse is the symbol of true power.

However, this power is a power that can be gained when others are approached with compassion and unconditional love when possessions are shared with others with love.

One cannot achieve spiritual evolution by escaping from power, by choosing to be powerless.

The Horse offers guidance on appreciating its strength and using it positively.

If power is used for personal gain at the ego level and the needs of others are entirely ignored, the Horse will come to teach to use power correctly.

White Horse symbolism death

In most cultures, a white Horse symbolizes purity and innocence.

However, in Christianity, it also symbolizes death. Earlier I have provided the verses of Revelation. There the fourth Horse was pale and carried Death on its back.

Therefore, people believe it’s a plague that will kill everyone before the apocalypse.

What does a spirit animal Horse symbolize in literature?

Horses are a popular name in literature.

However, different authors explained Horses in different ways.

For example, some see them as a symbol of faith, while some characterize them as dangerous creatures.

One of my favorite Horses is Shadowfax from J.R.R. Tolkien’s “Lord of the Rings.” (check here for the UK and here for the US)

He was the king of all Horses. Besides, he could understand human speech.

However, if you talk about war Horses, Jack Seely’s “Warrior: The Amazing Story of a Real War Horse” (check here for the UK and here for the US) will be my top pick.

The book amazingly portrays the story of a brave war Horse.

Besides, it tells how the Horse inspired its rider to win numerous wars.

What does a spirit animal Horse represent spiritually?

Spiritually Horses are associated with numerous meanings. First, however, you need to connect with your spirit animal Horse to know correctly what it is trying to tell you.

Primarily, Horses were used for going on travel.

Besides, Horses can take riders on their back and carry other things with tremendous power and stamina. Therefore, a Horse can guide your spirit to a new journey of freedom.

An attractive Horse trait is that he carries only how much it can bear. Therefore, it will also assist you in taking as much as a burden you can take.

Besides, a Horse spirit will let you know when to drop some responsibilities from your life.

However, Horses can jump off fences and obstacles during the journey comfortably.

Nonetheless, if you have seen Horse races, you should be well aware of how good they’re at crossing barriers.

However, you may have faced a lot of trouble in your life. But you don’t have to anymore. That’s because a Horse can teach your spirit to overcome obstacles in your journey of life.

Spiritually Horses are also known to be emotional animals. They love to be with groups, and if left alone, they’ll feel sad.

Therefore, you also can be a social person with a spirit animal Horse.

Besides, people around you will tend to like you very much.

The Horse goddess in Celtic mythology

The Horse goddess in Celtic mythology describes the power to dominate the life cycles.

This Horse goddess is believed to govern the life cycles of the people in that society: birth, death, afterlife, and rebirth.

The Horse represents the mental preparation of man for all life stages.

It will enable us to discover our true spiritual power and teach the awareness that we are immortal souls despite the temporality of our physical bodies.

Questions that spirit animal Horse may ask to you

The Horse is a precious guide who has come to mature the warrior spirit that needs to be developed.

The Horse is our warrior spirit.

It symbolizes the awareness of the system or our stiffness, waking us up, firing the power that we silenced within us.

When the Horse comes to visit you, it may be asking you the following questions;

  • Where are you stuck?
  • What are your ties?
  • Why can’t you move?
  • Do you always have to give way for others to move forward?
  • Have you closed your borders to relations with the worry of the problems it might cause?

Conclusion

The Horse has come to be a safe guide for those who need to move in a physical or spiritual direction. He comes and shouts: “Move!”

Learn How to Find Your Spirit Animal

What Is the Meaning of a Spirit Animal?

How to Connect with Your Spirit Guides?

Below is a Pinterest friendly photo…. so you can pin it to your Spirit Animal Board!

What Does a Spider Spirit Animal Mean and Symbolise?

Spider spirit animal symbolizes creativity, persistence, cleverness, feminine power. However, the real question is, what does a Spider spirit animal mean and symbolize for you?

A Spider spirit animal can give a message to you in different ways.

For example, what do you do when you find a Spider creating its web at home?

What is the first thing you do?

You clean it immediately or stop whatever you are doing and start to observe with excitement, illusion, and awe.

Spider is a master weaver.

A unique pattern emerges when the web formed by combining the yarn particles produced is completed.

There is a lot that this whole process can teach us if we are ready to receive.

What does it mean to have a Spider spirit animal?

A spirit animal Spider is incredibly creative.

A Spider often constructs a web of special thick silk. This is to attract insects with the UV light reflection of the silk it uses.

Moreover, to save themselves from other creatures, Spiders also can make fake poop.

However, they always connect at the center if you notice Spider webs. Besides, the web is a Spider’s world. Therefore, if you have a Spider spirit animal, it may mean you consider yourself in the center of your world. And focus on improving your life.

The Spider comes to show the perfect plan of creation, reminding people how they have weaved their lives from moment to moment.

Moreover, if a Spider comes to you as a spirit animal, it may be an invitation from Goddess to join the sacred feminine energy.

Grandmother Spider stealing the fire

You can keep the trace of this sacred feminine energy in the mythology of the grandmother Spider stealing the fire.

Once upon a time, there was no light, and people and animals lived in complete darkness. So finally, they decided to steal the fire from the East.

Many animals tried. Opossum, vulture, and crow, but they could not succeed.

Crows were wight and singing very nicely, but their color and sound changed after looking to fire for so long.

Finally, the grandmother Spider tried. She created her web to East, formed a pot from clay, went in silence, stole the fire, hid it in the pot of clay, and covered it with a lid.

When the grandmother returned, the council asked who the volunteer would be to keep the fire alive. Everybody was afraid, but the human accepted. Grandmother Spider showed the human to do the pot, weave the webs, and keep the fire alive.

What is the symbolic meaning of a Spider spirit animal?

In the symbolism of the web woven by the Spider, the matrix that connects all beings and thus forms the basis of the world becomes comprehensible.

The Spiders are the symbol of creativity and patience. Besides, the Spider can guide you to find your imperfections and find creative solutions.

Nonetheless, the web of a Spider is an excellent geometry.

And the most exciting thing about them is that no web matches another Spider web.

All the webs are constructed with creativity and uniqueness.

The Spider’s body is like the number eight and has eight legs. This number symbolizes the infinite possibilities of creation.

Moreover, Spiders are one of the most enduring animals. First, they weave their web very carefully. Then they wait with patience for their prey to fall into their traps.

Hence, a spirit animal Spider knows what is worth doing.

However, Native Americans consider Spiders as the symbol of teachers. That is because they believe Spiders have taught human alphabets by tracing their webs.

Moreover, Hindus symbolize Spiders as Maya or Illusion.

Are Spiders a sign of something?

What does it mean to see a Spider? Well, many people believe Spiders are a sign of good luck.

Hence, if you have seen a Spider recently, it may help you find your destiny.

Besides, it also can be a sign that he is your spirit animal.

And maybe he is the one who is guiding you to read this article.

However, if you still do not know what your spirit animal is, you can find it through a shamanic journey as I did.

What are Spiders an omen of?

Besides good signs, people believe Spiders are an omen of fortune.

If you find a red Spider on your body, it indicates money and good luck. Besides, seeing a Spider crossing wall is also good luck.

However, killing a Spider is believed to be a bad omen.

As a Spider can bring you good fortune if you kill them, you’re inviting bad luck.

Spiritual meaning of a Spider spirit animal in the house

Though some people don’t like Spiders in their homes, Spiders bring you many benefits.

These include getting rid of harmful insects such as mosquitoes. However, spiritually a Spider can mean a lot of things.

If you notice a single Spider in your house, he is likely to guide you to success.

Besides, it can help you to awaken your creative mind. Moreover, it also indicates your potential inner energy.

Furthermore, it may try to tell you to focus on your dream with patience.

What does it mean if you find a Spider in your house?

However, if you found a Spider in the house, it also can mean that he is your spirit animal.

Therefore, you should seek guidance from him. Maybe your power animal is calling you for a shamanic journey.

Moreover, a Spider slowly makes the web with patience and dedication. You also can take these lessons from your visitor. Try to notice everything it does.

The Spider weaves the web, and we weave our realities.

When you see a Spider making its web, look at it carefully.

Maybe it shows you which stage of creation you are in a while weaving your destiny.

Seeing a Spider at night meaning

“A Spider sewed at night

Without a light

Upon an arc of white.

If ruff it was of dame

Or shroud of gnome,

Himself, himself inform.

Of immortality

His strategy

Was physiognomy.”

– “A Spider Sewed at Night” by Emily Dickinson

There is a belief that seeing a Spider at night brings bad news.

Spider meaning in Islam

What does the Qur’an say about Spiders?

The word Spider is mentioned twice in a verse of the Holy Quran. It is as follows:

“The example of those who take allies other than Allah is like that of the Spider who takes a home. And indeed, the weakest of homes is the home of the Spider, if they only knew.”

– Al-Ankabut (29:41)

Hadith about Spider webs: The Spider and the cave story

Besides the Quran, there’s a fascinating story about a Spider I read in the hadith.

It says, once a Spider saved the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his friend Abu Bakr from enemies.

The story, in a nutshell, is as follows:

It was 622 AD when Qurayeshis tried to kill Prophet Muhammad (saw). So, he decided to travel to Madina from Mecca.

With him, he took his closest disciple Abu Bakr. But, before heading north, they hid in a cave in Jabal Thawr.

That’s because enemies were following them to the cave.

In the meantime, Allah ordered a Spider to construct a web at the cave entrance.

Therefore, when the Qurayeshis reached them, they saw the web & thought it would take days to make such an intricate web.

On the other hand, Muhammad (saw) left only a few hours ago. Hence, there’s no possibility that he and Abu Bakr is inside the cave.

Therefore they went, and a Spider saved Muhammad (saw) on the order of Allah.

Both the hadith and Qur’an mention Spiders as protectors and guidance.

Spirit animal Spider spiritual meaning

Spider as spiritually means progressive, enduring, creative, and source of sacred feminine energy. However, I believe a spirit animal Spider has more to offer if you can communicate with him properly.

Spiders construct their web with creativity and patience. And once they start building, they only stop when it’s done.

Therefore, they can also teach your spirit to be creative and progressive.

However, Spiders build things and fight against their enemies with few resources.

Hence, it indicates that Spiders can help you fight against odds with all you have.

Moreover, you’ll be able to focus more on your skills rather than looking for resources.

Furthermore, a spirit animal Spider will teach you to find your destiny and see your own life in the whole life connected with others.

Spider gives the guidance of Oneness.

The Spider’s teaching is to proceed with precision and grace, whatever the circumstances.

Developing positive feelings and attitudes to achieve desired results requires extraordinary effort and awareness; until this holistic approach becomes part of the personality.

Conclusion

If you feel like a Spider is coming to you to give a message or your spirit animal is a Spider, take care of it.

Spiders are incredible animals full of wisdom.

The Spider – the symbol of creation, weaving our truths, destiny, and eternity, maybe inviting you to a new relationship.

It is time to discover more.

Enjoy the journey!

What Does an Elephant Spirit Animal Mean and Symbolise?

Spirit animal Elephant comes to you to give its guidance about ancient wisdom, self-esteem, patience, power, strength, and compassion.

All humanity has respected Elephants throughout all human history. It has been part of our collective beliefs, stories, and symbols.

Looking at these giant animals, we remembered our restricted way of perception. We accepted it as the collective story of blind men and an Elephant which we will talk about in a while.

It was six men of Indostan

To learn much inclined,

Who went to see the Elephant

(Though all of them were blind),

That each by observation

It might satisfy his mind

And so these men of Indostan

Disputed loud and long,

Each in his own opinion

Exceeding stiff and strong,

Though each was partly in the right

And all were in the wrong!

“The Blind Men and the Elephant” by John Godfrey Saxe

Let’s dive deeper into the symbols and stories of Elephants worldwide to prevail the meanings of the guidance of spirit animal Elephants.

What does the spirit animal Elephant mean?

The spirit animal Elephant represents wisdom, patience, loyalty, strength, and strong bonds with others.

When an Elephant comes to you as a spirit animal, you also get these traits in you.

However, when it first appears to you, Elephant spirit animals will ask you some questions. For example;

  • Have you lost your connection with people at your home?
  • Did you try to stretch your empathic skills?
  • Do you feel like you’re alone?

Your spirit animal Elephant will help you find the answer to all the questions. And then he will work to resolve them.

The Elephant is quite an emotional animal.

They grieve when they lost any of their family members. Sometimes they go through depression if they lose their babies.

Therefore, as a Spirit animals, Elephants will teach you to care about others.

One interesting thing about Elephants is that they live in matriarchal groups. Therefore, have strong bonds with others.

Hence, he will assist you in living in harmony with others.

What is the meaning of an Elephant charm?

The Elephant charm is trendy in Western cultures.

This first started during the British rule in the Indian subcontinent.

In Europe and America, they believe Elephant charm is lucky. They also tend to turn up the trunk always. They believe downward-facing trunks will result in running out of luck.

The Elephant charm also signifies the strong bonding between family members.

Therefore, the charm will help you improve your love, care, and respect for other family members.

Westerns wear Elephant necklaces to bring the lucky Elephant charm. Nonetheless, a spirit animal Elephant can also be your lucky charm.

Is an Elephant good luck?

Many people consider Elephants to be good luck.

Well, it has a long story.

Feng shui and Indian cultures primarily recognize Elephants as good luck.

Even the Elephant-like Hindu god Ganesha represents wealth and luck. So naturally, therefore, it’s more prevalent in Asia. I’ll discuss them more in a while.

Nonetheless, after world war I, in Thailand, a royal family owned a few white Elephants. And only that family could afford to own Elephants at that time. Therefore, they got a lot of media attention.

Besides, many soldiers were returning home with a vast knowledge of the Hindu God Ganesha. So, the speculation is that this is when the belief of Elephants is good luck arises first.

What do Elephants symbolize in different cultures?

Elephants are pretty popular animals in several cultures.

Especially the large size of Elephants attracts more attention. However, in some cultures, they bring luck while increasing bonding among people in some cultures.

I have explained some of the famous Elephant cultures and symbolism below:

1. Feng Shui

Feng Shui is a Chinese Geomancy that originated from the ancient Chinese practice of using energy factors to influence your surroundings. However, they have different beliefs about Elephants.

In Feng Shui, Elephants are considered sacred animals. It can bring good luck and wealth to your family and provide protection. However, the results depend on how you use them.

For example, if you place a statue of an Elephant in front of doors, it will bring good luck. Besides, if you put it in the middle of the house, it is supposed to protect you from harmful energies. Moreover, Elephant statues can give you knowledge, improve your career, and develop fertility.

2. Burmese Folklore

Although Elephants are one of the largest animals in the world, in Burmese Folklore, there is a small and rare water Elephant.

They are believed to be the size of a mouse.

However, they can attack giant Elephants and can eat their brains. Besides, they live high up in the mountains.

3. Kamba Tribe

Kamba is a tribe of Kenya. They have an interesting tale about the origin of Elephants. The story in a nutshell is:

Once a poor man heard of the rich and generous Ivonya-Ngia (He that feeds the poor). Then he set out to look for him, dreaming of being rich.

However, one day he reached the mansion where Ivonya-Ngia gave him an ointment and told him to rub it on his wife’s canine teeth.

So he did it, and his wife’s teeth grew to the size of a man’s hand.

Then he sold them at a reasonable price. After that, he continued to rub the ointment. But after a particular time refused to give her teeth, and slowly, her entire body transformed into an Elephant.

Then she left for the forest and gave birth to new Elephants.

This myth explains why some people believe Elephants can bring wealth.

What do Elephants symbolize in Christianity?

Elephants, the gentle giants, symbolize mercy and strength like Christ. Though Elephants can cause a great deal of destruction, they do not behave violently toward others.

Therefore, in Christianity, Elephants are symbols of patience, grace, temperance, and strength.

However, though there isn’t any direct mention of Elephants in the bible, I found a verse mentioning Ivory:

“Once every three years, the fleet of ships of Tarshish used to come bringing gold, silver, ivory*, apes, and peacocks.”

1 Kings 10:22

*Ivory is derived from the Elephant in greek.

Spirit animal Elephant symbolism Buddhism

In Buddhism, some specific symbols represent the Buddha. One of them is a White Elephant.

In Buddhism, white symbolizes holiness, enlightenment, and purity.

Besides, Buddhist believe Elephants possess great wisdom and compassion.

I have found an exciting tale of Elephants. It says, Queen Maya was the mother of Siddhartha, who later became Buddha.

When she was pregnant, she had a dream of an Elephant.

The Elephant brought her a lotus flower. However, the belief here is that the flower symbolizes Buddha. Therefore, the Buddhist people respect Elephants.

Spirit animal Elephant symbolism Hinduism

Elephants are sacred and significant animals in Hinduism.

One of the Gods of the Hindu religion, “Lord Ganesha,” wears the Elephant’s head.

According to Hindu tradition, Lord Ganesha is the God of luck, success, and wisdom.

Therefore, Hindu people respect Elephants as the symbol of these things. Moreover, they use the symbol of Elephants to invite good luck.

Besides, there are a few more legends available about Elephants in Hinduism. One of them says that eight Elephants are located at eight corners of the world to protect the earth.

Moreover, they’re sometimes visited by Gods who ride on their backs. However, Hindus believe when any of these Elephants move, it causes earthquakes.

Why are Elephants sacred in Hinduism?

As I said earlier, Lord Ganesha in Hinduism is an Elephant headed God. So, therefore, they consider Elephants sacred in Hinduism.

Ganesha can help you remove all the obstacles in your life.

One of the ancient Hindu texts says:

“All obstacles, whatever they may be, will be rooted out by worshipping Ganesh.”

Moreover, the Elephant head of Ganesh represents power and strength. But, simultaneously, one of his broken tusks resembles the ability to accept good things in life and stay away from the negatives.

Spirit animal Elephant quotes: What is the saying about Elephants?

Now it is time to get some inspiration with Elephant quotes!

“Elephants love reunions. After years of separation, they recognize one another and greet each other with wild, boisterous joy. There’s bellowing and trumpeting ear flapping and rubbing. Trunks entwine.” –

Jennifer Richard Jacobson, Small as an Elephant

“She owned the road

as an Elephant owns the veldt

and like a big blue Elephant

moved with massive grace

and dignity.”

David Drake, Overdue Notice: Poems from the Library

“There is no creature among all the Beasts of the world which hath so great an ample demonstration of the power and wisdom of Almighty God as the Elephant.”

Edward Topsell

These famous quotes show an Elephant’s empathy, power, and strength. Therefore, if an Elephant comes to you as your spirit animal, you’re likely to embrace these traits.

What is the spiritual meaning of the spirit animal Elephant?

Spirit animal Elephants can mean numerous things in your life.

It depends on the path of your life. However, if you go to the deeper state of your mind, you’ll be able to interpret the message better.

Strength, social bonding, power, good luck, patience are some of the common spiritual traits of an Elephant.

Nonetheless, spiritually, Elephants are associated with love, belongingness, and loyalty. They’re always loyal to their matriarchal groups. Moreover, Elephants’ feminine nature will enable you to love your close ones and care for them.

However, Elephants are pretty slow at moving. Therefore, for some people, a spirit animal Elephant can mean laziness and sluggish movement. But on the other hand, Elephants have an excellent memory too, which will make your mind sharper.

Elephants’ eyes, whose senses of touch, smell, hearing, and taste are very sensitive, are disproportionately small to their heads.

Since it is difficult to turn left and right, they are partially prevented from seeing the sides.

Because of these limited viewing angles, they often look straight ahead and sometimes may not notice what is happening.

Elephant guidance becomes vital in periods when the focus should be on the whole of life.

Maybe inspired by this attribute of the Elephants, the parable “blind men and the Elephant” came to life and was widely diffused worldwide.

The parable originated in the ancient Indian subcontinent and has crossed between many religious traditions.

It is part of Jain, Hindu, and Buddhist texts of the 1st millennium CE.

The story also appears in the 2nd millennium Sufi and Baháʼí Faith lore.

The tale later became well known in Europe, with 19th-century American poet John Godfrey Saxe creating his version as a poem, with a final verse that explains that the Elephant is a metaphor for God, and the various blind men represent religions that disagree on something no one has thoroughly experienced.

The parable continues as such

A group of blind men heard that a strange animal, called an Elephant, had been brought to the town, but none were aware of its shape and form.

So, out of curiosity, they said: “We must inspect and know it by touch, of which we are capable.”

So, they sought it out, and when they found it, they groped about it.

The first person, whose hand landed on the trunk, said, “This being is like a thick snake.”

It seemed like a kind of fan for another one whose hand reached its ear.

Another person, whose hand was upon its leg, said the Elephant is a pillar-like tree trunk.

The blind man who placed his hand upon its side said to the Elephant, “is a wall.”

Another who felt its tail described it as a rope.

The last felt its tusk, stating the Elephant is that which is hard, smooth, and like a spear.

Conclusion

Elephants, which are highly respected in all ages of history, are among the world’s largest and longest-lived land animals.

If an Elephant is coming to you as a spirit animal, accept it with respect and focus on creating a relationship as it is how to start.

The Meaning, Story, and Symbolism of Easter

It is Easter time of the year when many celebrations from different traditions are taking place. Whatever the path is, I see them all coming from the same source and varying according to different attributes and necessities of the people.

You already know that I enjoy rituals, sacred spaces, and ancient stories and symbols. This quote below, explains also my point of view for all these celebrations happening around the world.

Christmas isn’t about the decorations,

 It’s about compassion.

 Hanukkah isn’t about the sufganiyot,

 It’s about amalgamation.

 Ramadan isn’t about the feast,

 It’s about affection.

 Diwali isn’t about the lights,

 It’s about ascension.

Our world is filled with festivals,

But what do they really mean?

 Celebrating them with cultural exclusivity,

Makes us not human but savage fiend.

Every festival belongs to all of humanity,

For happiness has no religious identity.”Abhijit Naskar, I Vicdansaadet Speaking: No Rest Till The World is Lifted

Our world is filled with festivals, but what do they really mean? asks Abhijit Naskar. In the light of this question, let’s explore the meaning of Easter, its story, and its origins.

The meaning of Easter

Easter is a very important event in Christianity. It is celebrated every year as the day of resurrection of Jesus three days after his crucifixion and burial. This event occurred some 2000 years ago. The word derived from an ancient celebration of Goddess Eostre or Eastre at the beginning of the spring season.

How Easter is calculated?

Easter day is the ‘first Sunday’ after the ‘full moon occurring on or after the Spring Equinox’. That is why the date of Easter is always changing every year.

The story of Easter

The story of Easter starts after the Last Supper which was the final meal Jesus had taken with his apostles. In that meal, Jesus had predicted his death. After that, the guards of the temple arrested Jesus. The reason behind this was that the elders of the temple were offended by the preaching of Jesus. They charged him with the claim of him being the king of the Jews. After the arrest, he was taken to the Roman governor, where he was tried and sentenced to be crucified. On Friday, Jesus was crucified on the cross.

What happened on Easter Sunday?

Stories of the Gospel tell that the Crucifixion of Jesus took place on the Friday before Easter, called Good Friday. He got buried inside a tomb that was protected as there was the risk of the body being stolen. After three days, on Sunday, a woman went there and found the tomb empty. It was believed that God took Jesus to heaven, termed as resurrection from death.

Listening to this story, you could ask a question; has this really happened? My answer is we will never really know. We can even not be 100% sure that Jesus existed. You can watch this interesting video about this question: Did Jesus Exist?

The history of Easter

The old Anglo Saxon pagans celebrated the Eastre goddess at the arrival of the spring season. The Christians administered them and tried to convert those pagans to Christianity. The celebrations of the resurrection of Jesus by Christians took place on the same spring celebration days by the pagans. Thus, the resurrection of Jesus celebration got combined with that spring-time celebration. It was called Easter so that after conversion, the pagans can enjoy their tradition as well.

The history of Easter also connects with the Passover, a Jewish festival. According to Wikipedia, “Easter is linked to the Jewish Passover by much of its symbolism, as well as by its position in the calendar.”

The origin of Easter

There are different origins for the word Easter according to history:

* As per an eighth-century monk “Venerable Bede”, the word “Easter” has taken from the name of a Germanic goddess named “Eostre/Eastre”. She was the goddess of spring and fertility. Anglo Saxon pagans used to celebrate this goddess at the start of the spring season.

Hence, the resurrection of Jesus indicates the start of a new season of prosperity and goodness.

* In the ancient Norwegian language, the words ‘ostara’, ‘eostur’, or ‘eastur’, have the meaning of “the season of new birth”. Another meaning is “season of growing sun.”

For that reason, the word Easter fuses with the essence of the resurrection or rebirth of Jesus.

* Also, if we look at the word “East”, it comes from the old English and old German (the word: ostar), having the meaning of “towards the sun”. In Greek and Hebrew languages, it has the meaning of “to rise, to shine.” Hence, the name Easter gives us a sense of the rise of Jesus again after the death.

* Eostre (in old English) or Ostara (in old German) is also “the goddess of dawn.”

Therefore, Easter here can represent the “dawn of goodness and divinity” as being celebrated as the resurrection of Jesus. It symbolizes the faith in the rise of good powers over bad powers.

This simply leads to the fact that the resurrection of Jesus links with the joyous and fruitful spring. The resurrection of Jesus is the assurance of the arrival of good and the departure of evil.

Why do we celebrate Easter?

Easter is the day when good defeated evil. It portrays the true revival of hope and showcases the downfall of wickedness. Therefore, Christians celebrate this day with true devotion and respect. It marks the fulfillment of prophecies of the Bible about a messiah who would rise after death. This day reminds the struggles of Jesus, and the cruelties he faced. But in the end, he resurrected and defeated all his enemies. This is the sheer indication of good overpowering the bad.

How is Easter celebrated?

Easter is celebrated with full enthusiasm. Sunrise services, Easter eggs, Easter bunnies, flowers especially lilies, daffodils, and other white flowers are common practices.

Sunrise services are done in churches to celebrate the rise of Jesus. Easter bunnies are candies, mainly in chocolate flavor, that are very much liked by the children. The candy baskets are secretly kept for the children that they find out in the morning. Decorated Easter eggs are a part of the celebration. The Easter egg hunts are also organized for the children at their homes. Some organizations also arrange these hunts for the children. Also, lilies are used for decoration as a symbol of purity.

The symbolism of Easter

You can read the symbolism of the Holy Week here as well. For now, let’s read about the symbolism of Easter.

  • Easter Bunny: The link of the rabbit came since the rabbit was the symbol of Eastre, goddess of spring and fertility. Hence, Easter gives us the vibes of rebirth and resurrection. Also, the hare has increased fertility. This also shows the message of vitality and new births. Hare is also an ancient symbol for the moon. This gets linked with the fact that Easter is determined by the occurrence of the full moon.
  • Easter Eggs: Eggs are a symbol of a new arrival. This symbolizes the new life.
  • Lilies: White lilies symbolize the pure soul of Jesus.
  • Spring flowers: Daffodils and other flowers indicate the season of spring.
  • The Butterfly: the different phases of a butterfly’s life resemble the life of Jesus. The caterpillar stage indicates the life of Jesus in this world. The phase of the cocoon indicates the crucifixion and burial of Jesus inside the tomb. The final stage of a flying butterfly shows the resurrection of Jesus.
  • Hot Cross Buns: The buns have a cross on them to remind the cross of Jesus.

Conclusion

Overall, Easter symbolizes the rise of good over bad, justice over cruelty, hope over despair, and life over death. It also gives us the message of spiritual resurrection that we can have from the depths of sins, despair, and hopelessness.

The resurrection of Jesus gives the message of optimism and the victory of goodness always. It instills faith in the people who are disappointed by the existence of evil, injustice, and cruelty. Reassures people of forgiveness and a new life who are disappointed due to their sins.

This is the time of the year-Spring-to celebrate the birth and the hope and the optimism. Maybe you are passing through the darkest times of your life, but do not forget, everything is passing, and we are just passengers here.

Happy Easter everybody!

What Does a Tiger Spirit Animal Mean and Symbolise?

Tigers are brave, strong, and aggressive. But how does the spirit animal tiger affect your life?

If you have found that a tiger is your spirit animal, then you must be curious to know how it can help you in life.

However, if you don’t know yet about your spirit animal, you can find it through shamanic journeys.

You can read about my shamanic journey here.

Every spirit animal has a unique message.

Similarly, every person receives a distinct meaning.

So, believe you’re special, and your spirit animal tiger has a unique message for you.

Therefore, in this article, I’ll try to help you to decode that message.

You’ll get an idea of what the tiger spirit animal means and symbolizes.

So, let’s start with the meaning.

What does a tiger spirit animal mean?

William Blake, in his poem ‘The Tyger’ wrote:

“Tyger Tyger, burning bright,

In the forests of the night;

What immortal hand or eye,

Could frame thy fearful symmetry?”

Blake here wondered if the tiger is so fearless, what divine and mighty hand were required to create such a creature?

Indeed, tigers shine brighter than others.

Tigers possess a unique character.

They’re very conscious about their movements.

Although they make a lot of journeys, most of the time they spend resting.

Because they don’t like to waste their stamina on needless matters.

So, if your spirit animal is a tiger, you can learn a lot about leading a valiant and shrewd life.

However, to understand the meaning of the spirit animal tiger, you need to have a good idea of what it represents and its personality.

I have explained everything below for your convenience.

What does the tiger represent?

The tiger represents courage, strong willpower, and strength.

They are respected worldwide for their courage and fearlessness.

Tigers also have strong willpower in them.

They can lie in a place for multiple days for fulfilling their motive. And they never get tired of it because they are well aware of when to strike.

Moreover, tigers will do anything to achieve what they want.

Who are stronger? Tigers or Lions? Let me answer this.

While lions are considered to be the king of the jungle, tigers are stronger. There’s an old saying, “Never wake a sleeping tiger.”

That’s because you can not compete against his strength.

Militaries in Choson Dynasty Korea used to wear clothes decorated with tiger embroideries.

That’s because they respected the tigers for their unbelievable strength and courage.

Tiger spirit animal personality

Tigers are territorial animals.

That means the rule over own kingdom with an iron fist.

So, when a tiger comes into your life as a spirit animal, you’ll be able to face and solve all the difficulties of your life.

Spirit animal tigers possess some unique personalities.

It will make you more persistent.

Moreover, the tiger spirit will assist you in making the right decision at the right moment. This will enable you to save your energy for use when necessary.

Tigers are also very much passionate about what they do. So, if you have a tiger as your spirit animal, you’re likely to have a passionate personality.

Again, the tiger spirit animal loves to roam around independently. It will help you to use your strength with freedom.

White tiger spirit animal

Though both are the same creature, white tigers are rare. Hence, possess some distinct characteristics from other tigers.

Along with willpower, courage, and strength, a white tiger spirit animal represents war, instinct, and clairvoyance.

The white tiger is also one of the five mythical tigers that guard cosmic forces and cardinal points in the world.

However, the white tiger guards the west cardinal points. It represents the afterlife.

In Chinese mythology, the white tiger is known as Bai hu. Moreover, Bai hu represents long age and power.

However, according to the myth, he is never evident on the earth unless there’s universal peace.

What does a tiger symbolize?

A tiger symbolizes power, strength, courage, conscious influence, passion, and fierceness.

In ancient India, tigers were known to be protecting jungles and forests.

Also, kill those who trespassed without showing respect.

And people couldn’t do anything as tigers are so powerful.

Moreover, the Hindu God Shiva wears tiger skin to demonstrate his power and bravery.

One special thing about tigers is that they can see in the dark and at night they’re most active.

Though they’re awake during the day, they pick a night to hunt down their prey.

This has symbolic importance.

Tiger would guide you to see the deeper meanings, have powerful intuition and senses, and teach you how to see beyond your senses.

If you have a tiger as a spirit animal, maybe your most effective working hours could be at night.

Tiger also symbolizes the new moon.

If you will have a tiger as a temporary spirit animal in your shamanic journey, then it could mean that new beginnings and new adventures are at the door.

Tiger symbolism in literature

“Aunt Jennifer’s tigers prance across a screen,

Bright topaz denizens of the world of green.

They do not fear the men beneath the tree;

They pace in sleek chivalric certainty.”

Aunt Jennifer’s Tigers, Adrienne Rich.

In literature, tigers symbolize protection, as well as hunters. But one thing is clear that they’re the most powerful.

Tiger symbolism in Chinese zodiac

Tiger is one of the twelve Chinese zodiacs and symbolizes ferocity and strong determination, and power of spirit.

Therefore, people who are born in the tiger year are considered to be more self-confident, brave, and powerful.

Moreover, tigers are also believed to be protectors of the child.

This is why babies in China often wear tiger hats on New year’s night to wish for a healthy life.

Also, in Chinese mythology, the tiger rules over all other animals and takes decisions for them.

Specifically, for their stripes on the forehead, which matches the Chinese word “王,” which means “king.”

What tiger represents in Buddhism?

If you’re like meditation, you’re going to like it.

In Tantric Buddhism, the tiger skin represents the transformation of anger into insights and wisdom.

It also protects the mediator from spiritual interference and probable outside harm.

What does tiger mean in the Bible?

Though in the bible, there’s a lot of mention of lions and leopards, unfortunately, I couldn’t find any word of tigers.

However, some Christians believe tigers are a symbol of cruelty, martyrdom, and vanity.

That’s because, at an early age, a lot of Christians were thrown in front of tigers and lions because of their faith.

What does a tiger symbolize spiritually?

Spiritually, the tiger is the symbol of patience, success, and personal strength.

When a tiger comes to you as a spirit animal, it teaches you how to have patience until the perfect moment.

Moreover, you should always welcome the spirit animal tiger with the utmost respect.

That’s because you may have faced a lot of difficulties in your life.

And the tiger spirit can enlighten you on how to get rid of those problems.

It also protects you from future uncertainties.

Even in Vietnam, tigers are considered protectors.

They revere Giang Avo, a tiger spirit, protector of the forest as well as a human with complex rituals.

However, the rituals include sacrificing a tiger in a particular manner, then burying it in the middle of town.

After that, the belief is Giang Avo protects that city from all harm.

Nonetheless, tigers, as spirit animals, will make you adventurous.

Also, you’ll gain incredible personal strength. They’re well known for that.

Spiritually, tigers can bring different messages to different people.

A shamanic journey is a great start to having proper contact with them.

After that, you can contact your spirit animal anywhere you like.

Conclusion

So, to wrap up tigers are full of symbolism of power, loyalty, care, and ability.

They would come to guide you to slow down and reflect on your life, once having your power continue with patience and self-trust.

They will lead you to find success.

The lion spirit animal is the epitome of fearlessness, great strength, vigor, and leadership.

Lion is a multiple-trait spirit.

The lion has been used as a symbol in all different mythologies.

So, let’s find out more about it and also seek the guidance it gives to us.

What is special about lions?

Lions roar the loudest and can be heard from seven to eight km.

They have a light sensitivity six times better than any human.

They also have brilliant night vision.

The lion as a spirit animal guides you on how to efficiently use your powers and maintain them consistently.

He guides you to recognize your charisma and how to keep it up.

Are lions loyal?

Yes, of course.

The lion is a loyal creature.

He comes up to protect and defend his pride no matter what the risk is.

Therefore, the lion here is guiding you about your loyal nature.

What is the symbolic meaning of a lion?

Lion has been the symbol of the Sun and gold. Middle-aged alchemists symbolize Sun with sulfur and Moon with the element mercury.

They have said that they were looking for gold to hide their search for the path for spiritual perfection.

In Ancient Egypt, the lion was the symbol of power and fortune.

The young lion was symbolizing the rising Sun.

If a lion spirit animal is coming into your life, maybe it is giving you signals that you are in the life stage of your shining identity.

When you look at a lion you feel power and dignity.

When you hear their majestic roar, you would believe their courage.

If you continue to observe them you will realize that they are calm, peaceful, and relaxed.

Inside you, they awaken feeling like respect, grace, mystery, focus, and knowledge.

Lion spirit animals come to show you how to carry your power and how to be in balance.

Does the lion represent Jesus?

According to Wikipedia, “The Lion of Judah is also mentioned in the Book of Revelation, as a term representing Jesus, according to Christian theology.”

In ancient beliefs, it was said that the lion cubs are born dead and were given life by their father’s roar.

Due to this, in Christianity, the lion represents Jesus. Being the king of the jungle also represents Jesus being the king in the religious aspect.

Lion as a spirit animal here is guiding you to regain your leadership and status if you are lagging.

It is giving you the message of attaining the top position once again if you are down on the list.

Lion symbolism in Bible

The bible represents both the positive and negative aspects of the lion:

“They shall go after the Lord;

he will roar like a lion;

when he roars,

his children shall come trembling from the west;”

(Hosea 11:10)

“Like a roaring lion or charging bear

is a wicked ruler over a poor people.”

 (Proverbs 28:15)

The first verse is positively presenting the lion.

The lion spirit here gives us the message of recognizing, attaining, and using our power, strength, and majestic character.

Alternatively, the second verse is depicting the negative nature.

The threatening roar of the lion here brings the message of evil and threats.

It indicates the satanic voices of threat and harm.

If you are facing any kind of hardships right now and have self-doubts…

If you are worried about the roars of despair and disbelief and see a lion somehow, blow away all roars.

Have firm belief in yourself, overcome your fears, and do not surrender in front of any evil and doubts.

Lion symbolism in Islam

Rumi uses the lion as a symbol of “Insan-ı Kamil”, an honorific title to describe the Prophet Muhammad.

The phrase means “the person who has reached perfection”, literally “the complete person” or the murshid, the guide-teacher in the spiritual path.

The responsibility of the murshid was and still is to remind the person of her own source and help her to be aware of her ego on the path.

Ali ibn Abi Talib was a cousin, son-in-law, and companion of the Islamic prophet Muhammad was called the “Lion of God”.

There is a story linked with this symbol:

“When Prophet Muhammad ascends the Miraj (the Ascension of the Prophet Muhammad into heaven), first a lion appears before him, the lion asks the prophet for anything; otherwise it means that it will not pass. Prophet takes off the ring on his finger and hands it to him.

On the way back from Miraj, he sees a door and enters… When he enters, he saw Hz. Ali was there and he had that ring that Prophet gave to the lion while ascending to Miraj. There Prophet Muhammad said:

“Ya Ali, I could not arrive to understand your secret.”

Lion head symbol meaning

In Egyptian mythology, “Maahes was an ancient Egyptian lion-headed god of war”.

He was the son of Bastet about whom we have learned in the lioness spirit animal part.

He had the same nature as his mother and was linked with war and safeguarding.

The lion head symbol indicates a sense of safeguard, loyalty, leadership, and defense against the enemy.

If you are seeing a lion’s head in your life, try to receive what it’s guiding you.

Revive your true instincts of leadership, strength, dependability, and guardianship.

In popular culture, Singapore uses the lion’s head as a symbol of courage, strength, and excellence.

Its ferocious demeanor is used as a national tenacity to face the hardships and conquer them.

There is an ancient story of a Malay prince who survived a storm in the sea with his men and reached the bank of the current Singapore River.

There, during his hunt, he saw a lion in the jungle. Taking the lion as an omen of their good luck, he decided to live there and named the city Singapura (the Malay words: Singa meaning Lion, and Pura meaning city). Hence, Singapore is nicknamed The Lion City.

For that reason, the lion head symbol is also giving us a message of the pursuit of merit, brilliance, power, and bravery.

It is also pointing towards a good luck omen.

So, take the cues from the lion’s head that you witness and work hard towards your goals. Be stubborn in the way of hardships and defeat them with determination.

Good fortune is waiting for you.

Lion symbolism in literature

  • The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum has a lion character “Cowardly Lion”. He was embarrassed due to him being considered as the king of beasts, an evil portrayal.
  • The Chronicles of Narnia, a novel series by C.S. Lewis, depicts the main character Aslan, the “Great Lion”. He is an embodiment of wisdom, magic, and compassionate guidance for the visiting kids. He is the ultimate protector of Narnia.
  • In the Harry Potter series, by J.K. Rowling, the Gryffindor House has the symbol of the lion since the lion depicts bravery, courage, and nobility.

Consequently, your lion spirit is telling you about a variety of things that you must comprehend:

  • Evilness is always a reason for embarrassment and shame.
  • Learn to recognize your wise and kind guiding soul.
  • Handle every situation bravely and graciously.

What does a lion symbolize spiritually?

Lion comes to give us different guidance at different times. The guidance that a Lion gives could be one of those below:

  • Balance – you can be powerful and brave at the same time peaceful and relaxed. You can take care of your family and your community at the same time yourself.
  • Keeping the silence – be careful when to show your intentions and when not as well as when to speak up or remain silent.
  • Chase of goals – grasp the guidance to chase your goals with determination.
  • The courage that is coming from the heart- listen to your heart and be true to yourself.
  • Wisdom – rely on your wise and guiding self and benefit others.
  • Family, bonding, and serving to society – get the guidance of the lion to become a selfless leader who shines with the charisma of his/her source.
  • Correct use of power – with great power comes great responsibility so use your power wisely and be a voice for the weak and a helping hand.

What Does a Butterfly Spirit Animal Mean and Symbolise?

The Butterfly spirit animal has a lot of meanings, messages, and symbolism in different cultures throughout the world.

With a better understanding of these symbols and meanings, you can better interpret what the Butterfly spirit animal tells you.

Butterfly spirit animal would not come as a continuous power animal but as temporary guidance at an essential stage of personal development.

Below is the complete detail about the different aspects of the Butterfly spirit animal.

Still, do not forget that the Butterfly spirit animal’s messages are specific and unique for you. You are the one who will interpret.

What does the Butterfly spirit animal mean?

The Butterfly spirit animal symbolizes significant transformations in life, unexpected results, joy, and smartness.

Let’s look more in detail at the symbolic meanings in different cultures and occasions.

What do Butterflies mean symbolically?

Butterflies in most cultures symbolize a significant change in one’s life, a complete rebirth or transformation.

A Butterfly’s life is composed of phases: first, Butterflies are eggs that change into a caterpillar.

Then comes the long pupa stage; once it is finished, the final stage of the Butterfly life cycle happens, and it matures into a beautiful new creature.

The process of the spiritual transformation of humans is like the transformation of Butterflies.

It is almost as if Butterflies are there to remind us why we came to this world.

They must give up their previous shape to get their beautiful wings and become Butterfly.

The same goes for the person who wants to bring fundamental transformation into her life.

She will have to go through a similar process of transformation.

Without leaving your comfort zone, you cannot transform yourself, find your inner truth, and open your natural beauty.

What does it mean when a Butterfly crosses your path? What do random Butterflies mean?

When a Butterfly crosses your path, it can have various meanings, and you are the one who will interpret it.

So slow down for a while and reflect.

Ask yourself if the Butterfly is inviting you to take the path of transformation?

Or maybe you are already passing through a significant transformation. The Butterfly gently gives you joy and courage and reminds you that everything in life changes and life is made up of different phases.

You are the one who knows the real invitation and the guidance of this Butterfly.

So slow down, breathe, come to the moment, and gently ask yourself. Trust your inner guidance.

When a Butterfly visits your house, what does this mean?

A Butterfly visiting your house or even coming up on you can be an even more powerful message.

It could show you that the Butterfly is celebrating you for the transformation or maybe the soul of the loved one comes to visit you and support you.

Again, only you have the response, so with the guidance of this information, ask for the real meaning yourself.

Look at the meaning of the message inside you instead of outside.

Is a Butterfly spirit animal a symbol of death?

In Celtic belief, Butterflies were the souls who completed their life on the Earth, and people attached badges with the shape of Butterflies to their collars as an expression of respect to their ancestors.

When they saw a real Butterfly on a dead body, they believed that person was going directly to heaven.

During Samhain and Halloween, Celtic people extinguished and burned all the fires again as a symbol of refreshing and transformation, just like the symbol of Butterflies.

Therefore the name of the torch they used was called “Butterfly.”

It was strictly forbidden to kill a Butterfly in all ancient traditions because one would kill a living soul.

Is a Butterfly spirit animal a good sign?

The simple answer to this question is yes.

Butterflies are considered a sign of good luck.

Butterflies signify good luck, creativity, compassion, and freedom in most cultures.

A more complex answer would be that there is nothing such as good or bad in this world. Instead, it is the dance of both energies.

What does Butterfly spirit animal mean biblically?

In biblical terms, the Butterfly spirit animal refers to the resurrection or the life after death.

Butterflies are not expressedly found in Bible, whereas there is an excellent focus on transformation.

Below are some quotes from the Bible expressing this transformation.

“As the men watched, Jesus’ appearance was transformed so that his face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as light.”

Matthew 17:2, NLT

“So is it with the resurrection of the dead. What is sown is perishable; what is raised is imperishable. It is sown in dishonor, raised in glory. It is sown in weakness, raised in power. It is sown as a natural body, raised as a spiritual body. There is also a spiritual body if there is a natural body.”

1 Corinthians 15:42–44, ESV

Is a Butterfly spirit animal a sign of an angel?

According to the “Nature’s Winged Messengers, Butterflies are heaven-sent kisses of an angle.”

In the esoteric belief, we see the analogy that death is a beginning with the imagination of the cocoon period and exit from the cocoon, and the soul evolves by opening. This is partly why most religions’ angels are portrayed with wings.

Butterflies take our attention with their beauty, and angels can get their help to grab your attention so they can be a sign of an angel.

When you see a Butterfly, slow down and try to be aware of its message.

What does the Butterfly symbolize in literature?

In the book Alice in Wonderland (check here for the UK and here for the US), while Alice was walking around the forest, she came across Absolem, the old caterpillar representing wisdom.

She asks: “Who are you?”

Caterpillar responds: “I am not sure right now. This morning, I knew who I was, but I guess since I woke up, I changed several times.”

Transformations that confuse Alice do not surprise Absolem because transforming, changing, and being born again is the nature of the caterpillar.

There is another book called Papillon (Butterfly) by Henri Charriere (check here for the UK and here for the US). In this autobiographical novel, we find the story of his prison sentence for a crime he did not commit, escaping several times and being captured each time.

Finally inspired by the movements of the sea, he takes a final escape when he is sent to an island of cliffs with no means of escape.

Finally, he reaches Venezuela and takes refuge in this country.

All these phases change Charriere.

Finally, the Butterfly is free and ready to fly to a new place.

What do Butterflies represent spiritually? What is the spiritual meaning of Butterflies?

Even though the struggles it has gone through until it reaches beauty do not go out of our minds, the Butterfly has other meanings.

It reminds us that it is necessary to dance with the winds of life.

It emphasizes the importance of our choices for a conscious transformation.

The main idea of Butterfly symbolism is that no one phase of life will remain the same forever and that change strives with this awareness.

After each period of life- with particular goals for itself- when the wings open, completely different energy flows from these wings.

When we feel comfortable with this new identity, we start flying freely from flower to flower like a beautiful Butterfly, and the Butterfly completes its mission.

Meaning of Butterfly colors: What do different colors Butterflies symbolize?

Different colors of Butterflies represent different meanings, messages, or symbolism.

Let us look deeper.

What are the different colors of Butterflies?

Butterflies have many colors, including white, red, blue, pink, orange, yellow, and black.

Some Butterflies also have multiple colors and patterns of different colors carved on their wings.

According to the sayings, each Butterfly color represents a different meaning, message, or represents a different concept.

Yellow Butterfly

The yellow Butterfly is a symbol of joy, happiness, and creativity. The yellow Butterfly can come into your life to do more of what makes your soul happy.

The orange Butterfly is a symbol of courage, excitement, and passion. When you see an orange Butterfly, this can be an invitation to connect with the enthusiasm and love in your life.

White Butterfly

The White Butterfly is a symbol of spiritual change and personal transformation. White represents innocence.

When you see a white Butterfly, it can symbolize that you have a message from your spirit guides.

You can purify yourself and intend to connect with your spiritual guides. Also, white Butterflies remind you of the abundant energy that comes from the source.

Blue Butterfly

It indicates the need for change in time and that it is restricted for some reason.

These constraints are rather internal.

Like fear of change or thinking about what those around us will say…

Red Butterfly

It represents that there is no restriction for change. On the contrary, it symbolizes that the person is open to change.

What color Butterfly means death?

In most cultures, black Butterflies are a sign of death.

Apart from death, it also represents many other unfortunate events in someone’s life.

It also means tragedies and bad luck in many cultures.

Conclusion

Hopefully, the more you know about Butterflies’ symbolic and spiritual meaning, you will better understand why that specific Butterfly comes for you at that particular time.

Whenever you see an animal approaching, you get it as an invitation from an unseen world.

Reflect on these questions:

  • Is it time for you to start a new path of transformation?
  • Suppose you are already on a path of transformation at this specific moment. What wisdom do you need: embracing joy, remembering that everything is passing in life, surrendering, and dancing with what life brings?

Maybe you would consider making a shamanic journey and ask your power animal for some wisdom.

Ramadan for Kids: Explaining Ramadan to a Child

Living rituals with kids is incredibly magical. On special days, such as Ramadan, Christmas, Hıdırellez, etc. I try to collect the special stories of these days and share them with my kids.

I do all the rituals and ceremonies with them and just witnessing the feeling of magic in the air.

They are so into it, without any doubt, pouring all their love and curiosity in the heart and accepting full-heartedly.

If you have kids around you and if you want to experience a magical Ramadan, involve kids in your rituals, let them guide you to how to live life with a beginner’s mind, curiosity, joy and simply wandering around with full trust and love.

I dedicate this post to kids, as my aunt said once that “this world is still existing thanks to the beauty of the hearts of the kids.”

What is Ramadan for kids?

To start with check this nice video, where kids are answering what is Ramadan for them. It is full of joy.

How do you explain Ramadan to a child?

Here are some questions and answers to help you.

What is Ramadan?

Ramadan is a holy month. People do not eat during this month; when the sun comes until the sun goes. This means fasting.

Why we do Ramadan?

  • During Ramadan, we look to our inside and try to be a better person.
  • For this we keep everything clean- we take care of what comes inside our mouth and what goes from our mouth including our words.
  • We do not hurt anyone, not only with our body nor with our words.
  • Help everyone and we intend to act as angels for one month.
  • Remember Allah all the time and begin to see that Allah is in everything. (As in the story of Ilyas and Duck Search for Allah)
  • The more we see Allah, the more we love.

What does Ramadan teach us?

  • Ramadan is teaching us what does it mean to be human.
  • During Ramadan, we experience genuinely nice feelings, and we feel blessed.
  • We learn more about ourselves – our thoughts, our feelings, and our words.
  • To be more in control of ourselves and take more responsibility for ourselves.
  • We experience that everything in this world is connected and we are One.
  • We begin to see Allah in all beauties.

How do you make Ramadan fun?

The answer is spending more time with your kids and doing more stuff with them. Kids=Fun. So the answer is that simple. Below are some Ramadan specific ideas to do with the kids around you:

  • You can create an advent calendar with them and open it every day. Inside this advent calendar that you will create you can put one little chocolate and open it after iftar. You can add a daily good deed task to realize until the next day’s iftar time.
  • You can read more Ramadan-related stories and tell each other again and again until you become confident to explain this story as a storyteller in front of everybody. Who knows in Eid you can do storytelling to more people as a gift.
  • You can sing Ramadan-related songs or spiritual songs together with them and you can try to memorize at least one together.
  • Create together Ramadan Eid cards and write a letter for your family members and send them.
  • Decorate your home for Ramadan together with them. You can create this decoration material together with them as well.
  • You can create a charity jar. Take a jar, decorate it, for 1 month putting money inside and at the end of the month decide which charity you will donate or what you will do this money to help to others.
  • Do Ramadan-related activities. You can check if there is moon-sighting activity around where you live.
  • Doing a daily good deed all together as a family can be a great way of connecting and practicing the values of Ramadan. Here you can check a list of 50 creative ideas for 30 good deeds of Ramadan.
  • You can also have a family ritual altogether. This Christmas we had a nice and beautiful gratitude ceremony after dinner. We had an advent calendar and each day a person was opening it. Before she/he opened, she needed to sing a Christmas song and say what she was grateful for that day. Then open the chocolate advent calendar and enjoy the chocolate. That little ritual was the best part of Christmas for me.
  • You can also create a gratitude jar during Ramadan and specific for Ramadan. Every day, while you are together after iftar, you can say what you are grateful for, write it down, and put it in your family gratitude Jar. When Ramadan is over, in the celebrations of Eid, you can open them and read them all together as a family.

Ramadan gifts for kids

The best Ramadan gift for your kids is your time and doing Ramadan rituals together with them being totally in here and now. Telling stories to them, singing songs, dancing altogether.

Once said this, it could be a nice idea to prepare a special basket for them bringing some beautiful Ramadan-related objects together to share some quality time with your family.

When I was a kid, a Ramadan gift for us was new clothes for Eid morning. I still remember fondly, to wear that day my beautiful new clothes. Also, we had a neighbor that she was gifting us a new and beautifully designed handkerchief each year.

Here is the list that I have prepared for myself. I will choose some of these items and prepare a basket for my kids and my nephews, inshallah!

  • New painting material and a new art journal
  • Ramadan activity book for kids by My Sacred Space
  • A new book about Ramadan
  • Fabric for prayer clothes. Sewing together or by grandma could be a great gift.
  • Beads and string to create prayer beads or you can buy special prayer beads just for them.
  • Their first Qur’an.
  • Fasting chart with stickers.
  • Ramadan/Eid cookie cutters.

Ramadan decorations for kids

It is a good time to clean the room of the kids and give the old and broken toys and clothes and give a new order to their place. Preparing it for a new guest.

You can do this cleaning part together with your kids so that they can feel that Ramadan is coming, and it is time for preparation.

The best way for Ramadan decoration for kids is arranging a nice place in their room or the common area, wherever you feel suitable.

Pay special attention to this place to be clean and giving joy and looking beautiful.

Do not over-decorate, keep it minimal.

Bring all those objects-toys-books related to Ramadan or the spiritual life of your kid together in this space, such as a prayer rug, a tasbih, Qur’an, Ramadan stories book, activity book, etc.

To make this space beautiful with Ramadan art, you can create some art pieces with them and then hang them on the walls of this space.

You can do Crescent moon and stars mobile or Ramadan lantern and mosque candle holders or Ramadan lantern banners can be a nice idea.
